We first met our freshman year of college, with just one door between our rooms. We only met because Alexis was inviting Michael’s roommate to trivia night with her and her roommates, but luckily for us, Michael was the one who answered the door. That short meeting is what started it all.

Our first dates were simple but memorable, dining hall dinners, movie nights, and plenty of time spent with our roommates who were often along for the ride. It didn’t take long for us to realize how lucky we were to have found someone who loved so many of the same things, especially our favorite sports teams, and even more so, someone who felt like home.

In 2023, we welcomed our son, Everett, and made the choice to stay in school, even when things got tough. Over the years, we’ve grown side by side, navigating college life, late-night study sessions, middle-of-the-night feedings, and all the ups and downs that come with being full-time students, working, and raising a child. Through it all, our love has only grown stronger.

Even now, our date nights look a lot like they did in the beginning, takeout dinners and spending half the night deciding what to watch, only this time, Everett is the one who has to tag along. It’s proof that some things never change, and that’s exactly what makes them so special.
